A veterans retreat on the Gregory River near Woodgate. Opened in 2010, built and run by volunteers.
A veterans retreat
Camp Gregory opened as a veterans retreat in 2010. Before then, veterans from the 1968 National Service intake, with their friends and family, would gather here through word of mouth.
The camp has come a long way since those early days. We now welcome first responders from Fire and Rescue, Ambulance and Police services as part of our veteran family.
Without a doubt, the tireless volunteer work of the veteran community has made Camp Gregory Veterans Retreat what it is today.

Accommodation
Dongas with single and double rooms, ceiling fans and lighting. Bring your own bedding.
Camp kitchen
All cooking equipment and kitchen utensils are available for use.
Hot showers and ensuites
An ablution block with 5 ensuites and hot showers.
Firewood
Collect dead wood from the ground anywhere on the 40 acre property, and please replace any firewood you use. Firewood is also available at the camp for a $40 donation per wheelbarrow load.
Open fires
Allowed, with plenty of fire pits around the camp. Subject to fire bans.
Fishing and crabbing
Plenty of both, right on the Gregory River.
Please note
- Power and water are not available at campsites.
- Mobile phone charging points are at the camp kitchen.
Come and stay
The camp is free for serving and ex-service personnel, veterans, first responders and their families, for stays of up to 2 weeks. Your donations help keep it running.
